Pashtun rights activist and law student at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Mushahid Dawar, has been unlawfully arrested by Federal Investigative Agency Cyber Wing. Mushahid Dawar, who is known for his staunch criticism for Pakistan Army’s destabilising acts in Pakhtukhwa was arrested without any formal charges.
Agitated by his arrest, his university fellow has demanded his release. They have suggested that his abduction was carried out under the orders of Dr. Mushtaq Personal Secretary to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa.
This incident is part of a concerning trend where the Pakistani establishment aggressively targets Pashtuns and activists advocating for the oppressed Pashtun community. The arrest occurs amidst a critical time for the Pashtun nation, engaged in a struggle for survival.
