Startup media company News Intervention organized the talk “Inside the Mind of an Indian Woman” on January 15 at New Delhi. This talk was the first in News Intervention Conversation Series on women issues. The panelists at the talk were Padma Shri Deepa Malik (Khel Ratna Awardee 2019), Ms. Prabha Rao (retd. IPS and Intelligence Officer) and Dr Bijayalaxmi Nanda (Acting Principal Miranda House, Delhi University).

The panelists at this talk discussed issues that ranged from menstrual hygiene to women’s safety.

Deepa Malik shared her struggle to become a para-athelete that inspired the audience.

Prabha Rao raised the issues about women safety. She also revealed that India ranked top in the list of nations that watched child pornography and also in trafficking.

Dr Bijayalaxmi Nanda explained how some women face difficulties to be economically independent.

Being a woman and a student of journalism it was quite engrossing and enlightening to hear the panelists speak at the News Intervention Talk.
