Pak Army kills over five Pashtuns, injures 15 in north Waziristan blast

A devastating blast in Razmak, North Waziristan, has resulted in the deaths of at least five Pashtuns and left more than 15 others critically injured. Razmak, a heavily militarized area with its entry and exit controlled by the Punjabi Pak military, has seen a recent surge in such incidents, which are part of a broader strategic game to justify ongoing security measures.

The blast in Razmak follows a recent incident where a young boy named Zia ur Rehman was killed by Pakistan Army personnel in Khadi village, North Waziristan. The Pakistan Army has conducted numerous extrajudicial killings and targeting of innocent civilians under the pretext of operations against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al Qaeda.

The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have experienced severe displacement, destruction of homes, and staged encounters, by the Punjabi Pak Army’s operations in the region. The military’s anti-terrorist strategy, which often involves extensive collateral damage, is disproportionately affecting civilians while failing to address the underlying issues.

The ongoing operations are merely a facade and that conditions for civilians are worsening, with terrorists continuing their activities despite the Pak military’s efforts.

Pak Army arrests & abducts key PTM activist

Shehzad Wazir, the South Waziristan Coordinator for the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has been imprisoned once again following a new FIR. This arrest is part of a continued crackdown on PTM members, who have been vocal against Pakistan’s military interests in the Pashtun region.

The PTM has condemned the arrest, as it is a direct result of their opposition to Pakistan’s military operations and business interests in the Pashtun belt. The movement remains resolute in its resistance against what it perceives as unjust persecution.

Adding to the concerns, reportedly, Salman Turi, a PTM member from Kurram, remains missing. Despite his arrest the previous day, he has not been presented in any court, raising concerns about his safety and whereabouts. The PTM has expressed alarm over Turi’s fate, attributing the ongoing persecution to the influence of the Pakistan Army over law enforcement agencies.

The Pakistan Army has intensified its crackdown on the PTM, particularly in response to the movement’s planned national gathering on October 11 and its vocal opposition to the militarization of Waziristan through Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. These actions are an attempt to suppress dissent and silence voices advocating for the rights of the Pashtun people.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Armed men abduct three Sui Northern Gas employees

Police have confirmed that three employees of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) were abducted by armed individuals in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred when the employees were traveling in a vehicle transporting diesel.

Authorities report that the employees were intercepted and taken hostage by the armed group. The kidnapped employees have been identified as Inayat and Saleem, both from Lakki Marwat. The identity of the third employee is yet to be confirmed, but police have suggested that he is an Urdu-speaking resident of Dera Ismail Khan.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers have released a video featuring the abducted individuals. Police are actively investigating the case and working to secure the release of the hostages.

Remote-controlled bomb blast hits Pak security forces convoy in north Waziristan

A remote-controlled bomb explosion targeting a security forces convoy in North Waziristan’s Naurak area has resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to six others, including a captain.

Reportedly, the convoy was en route from Miranshah to Bannu when it was struck by the remote-controlled bomb. The blast killed Lance Naik Intazar and Soldier Ahsan Akbar. Captain Javed and Soldiers Amir, Arshad, Nadeem, Javed, Basharat, and Havildar Taha were severely injured in the attack.

The convoy was proceeding through Naurak when the explosion occurred. The injured personnel are receiving treatment, and a search operation is underway to locate those responsible for the attack.

Pak backed authorities impose curfew, suspend internet in Bela

Pak-occupied-authorities in Bela have imposed strict measures, ordering residents to stay indoors and close their shops as tensions escalate in the region. Reportedly, a curfew-like situation has enveloped the town, with a significant number of ambulances stationed throughout the area.

The occupied-administration has declared a state of emergency in all hospitals within the city, extending the alert to medical staff in the nearby area of Uthal. The heightened security measures follow ongoing unrest, leading to the suspension of mobile internet services in Bela, Uthal, and Hub Chowki. However, internet services are gradually being restored in other cities outside of these affected areas.

POB’s Chief Minister falsely claimed that the fighters at the Bela camp were neutralized at the main gate. In contrast, videos released by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on their official channel, Hakkal, show Baloch sarmachaars (revolutionaries) in various positions within the camp.

Local residents have reported hearing explosions from the camp throughout the day, with helicopter patrols continuing overhead. The BLA has since announced the conclusion of its Operation Herof and declared that all previously blocked roads will be reopened.

According to the BLA, Operation Herof has resulted in the deaths of 130 Pak Army personnel across various areas, including Bela. The group has also stated that it will soon release detailed accounts of Operation Herof and the self-sacrificing attacks on the main Pak forces camp in Bela.

BLA’s Operation Herof continues with blockades and attacks in Bolan

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has intensified its Operation Heroof, with reports emerging of blockades and attacks in Bolan and surrounding areas. Officials have discovered six bodies at various locations in the Dhadar area of Bolan district. The bodies have been taken into custody and transferred to a local hospital, with their identities still being confirmed.

Authorities report that the individuals were killed in a late-night shooting, and freedom fighters have been setting up road blockades across the region. Reportedly, Baloch sarmachars are still present near Dhadar, with several roads remaining closed.

The BLA has launched multiple multiple attacks in Bolan and nearby areas, mirroring similar actions in other parts of Pak-occupied-Balochistan as part of Operation Herof. The groups also confirmed that its sarmachars continue to enforce road blockades in various locations.

Zuckerberg reveals Biden-Harris administration pressured Meta to remove COVID-19 content

Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg has said in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee that the Biden-Harris administration “repeatedly pressured” Meta’s teams to censor posts related to COVID-19.

Zuckerberg expressed regret over not being “more outspoken” about the situation, stating that changes were made to the platform’s content moderation that, in hindsight, would not be implemented today. He said, “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree. Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of this pressure.”

Zuckerberg emphasized his belief that government pressure was wrong and reiterated his commitment to not compromising content standards due to pressure from any administration. “We’re ready to push back if something like this happens again,” he added.

The House Committee on the Judiciary, affiliated with the Republican Party, highlighted Zuckerberg’s letter on social media platform X, stating, “Mark Zuckerberg just admitted three things: 1. Biden-Harris Admin ‘pressured’ Facebook to censor Americans. 2. Facebook censored Americans. 3. Facebook throttled the Hunter Biden laptop story. Big win for free speech.”

In the letter, Zuckerberg also recalled an incident where the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) warned Meta about a potential Russian disinformation operation related to the Biden family and Burisma in the lead-up to the 2020 election. As a result, Meta temporarily demoted a story on corruption allegations involving Joe Biden’s family. Zuckerberg admitted that the story was not Russian disinformation and that the decision to demote it was a mistake.

Karachi: Violent clashes erupt between religious groups in Golimar area

Tensions erupted into violence in Karachi’s Golimar area on Sunday, as clashes between two religious groups resulted in one death and several injuries. The Sindh Rangers were deployed to the scene to restore order and ensure safety. The Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Karachi, confirmed that a heavy police presence is in place, with ongoing monitoring to prevent further escalation.

To ensure public safety and prevent further disturbances, the Sindh Home Department has decided to suspend cellular services in Karachi and several other districts, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Thatta, Sajawal, Khairpur, and Larkana. However, services will remain operational in Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas. This measure aims to secure the Chehlum procession and gatherings honoring Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) across the province.

The violent incident occurred when armed men opened fire on an Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) rally, resulting in the death of two individuals and injuries to nine others. The attackers also threw stones at the rally attendees, causing confusion and leading to clashes between the two local religious organizations involved. Some outraged members set vehicles on fire and blocked both lanes of the main artery leading to Nazimabad from Lasbella.

Notably, the attacks have escalated after Pak sponsored banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a fragile ceasefire agreement with the Pak Army in 2022 and vowed to target security forces.

Protest in Khyber: Kukikhel tribe demands resettlement after 22 days of sit-in

The sit-in protest by the Kukikhel tribe in Khyber Jamrud district has now extended to 22 days, with demonstrators blocking the Pakistan-Afghanistan highway at Bhagyari for the past three days, disrupting all traffic.

The protesters, originally from the Tirah Valley, were displaced during Operation Zarb-e-Azab from 2014 to 2017. Despite the occupied-state’s claims of restored peace in the Valley, the Kukikhels remain homeless, unable to return to their ancestral lands. Their prolonged displacement has led to widespread frustration and demands for immediate resettlement.

Malik Nasir Khan Afridi, a leading figure in the protest, accused the occupied-government of fabricating excuses to prevent the displaced families from returning home. He said that some individuals were only allowed back after staging demonstrations themselves. Afridi highlighted the severe destruction in Tirah Valley, including damaged infrastructure, barren agricultural fields, and a lack of basic facilities. The protesters are demanding not only their resettlement but also compensation for destroyed homes, restoration of essential services, and improved security.

A recent meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The meeting included a 20-member delegation from the sit-in, the Commissioner of Peshawar, district Khyber administrative officials, and other elected representatives. The Chief Minister assured the delegation that their concerns would be discussed by the Apex Committee.

Khyber’s Kukikhel Protest

However, the meeting faced criticism on social media, with some saying that the Chief Minister had claimed no authority over the matter. Haji Muhammad Khan, a meeting attendee, said that the Chief Minister had indeed promised to convene an Apex Committee meeting to address their issues and ensure relevant authorities’ participation.

As they await further action from the Apex Committee, the protesters remain in their sit-in. Badsah Gul, displaced from Tirah Valley 12 years ago, shared his family’s hardships, having lived in a rented house since their displacement. Despite their dire situation, Gul and others refuse to settle anywhere other than their original home in Tirah, even if it lies in ruins.

Since 2009, around 30,000 Kukikhel families were evacuated from Tirah’s Rajgal region and adjacent areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Protests since 2021 have seen 70% of displaced families return to their original homes. The current sit-in will continue until the occupied-government guarantees the dignified return of the remaining displaced families.

Steel Town Karachi police murders woman; family demands justice

Saran Samoo, an innocent woman from Keti Bandar, was brutally killed by Steel Town Karachi police, and her grieving family is still awaiting justice. Despite the gravity of the incident, no case has been filed against the responsible officers and the killers.

The atrocity has sparked outrage, with calls for immediate action from higher authorities. The community is demanding justice for Saran Samoo, asserting that this act of violence cannot go unpunished. The situation highlights a growing concern about police accountability and the urgent need for action to address such grave misconduct.

The Steel Town police’s actions, described as an unjustifiable shooting, have left the family of Saran Samoo in deep mourning, while the perpetrators continue to evade consequences. Activists and citizens alike are rallying under the hashtag #JusticeForSaranSamoo, urging that the case be thoroughly investigated and justice be served without delay.

This incident raises critical questions about police conduct and the need for reforms to ensure that such violence against innocent individuals does not continue unchecked.
