Taliban rejects Pak Army’s claims of Afghanistan harbouring Baloch freedom fighters

The Taliban government in Afghanistan has strongly rejected claims by the Pak Army that freedom fighters groups operating in Pakistan have their roots and sanctuaries in Afghan territory.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Taliban’s Ministry of National Defense dismissed allegations made a day earlier by Major General Ahmed Sharif, spokesperson for the Army, who accused the “interim Afghan government” of violating the Doha agreement by harboring fighters.

“Holding Afghanistan responsible for incidents of insecurity in Pakistan is a failed attempt to divert attention from the truth,” the ministry’s statement said. It claimed that the suicide bomber involved in a recent attack on Chinese engineers in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was actually a Pakistani national controlled by “terrorists and facilitators” inside Pakistan.

The statement added that the Afghan government has reassured Chinese authorities, who “have also understood the reality that Afghans are not involved in such matters.”

Gen. Sharif had directly linked freedom fighter’s actions in Pakistan, including the suicide attack on Chinese nationals in Dassu, to fighters based across the border in Afghanistan. He asserted that fighters were attempting to destabilize security in Pak-occupied-Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

In his remarks on Tuesday, the Military spokesperson said that “the roots of those carrying out operations in Pakistan lie in Afghanistan” and accused the Taliban of openly violating their commitments under the 2020 Doha agreement with the United States.

However, the Taliban spokesman Inayatullah Khwarzmi hit back, alleging that the killing of Chinese citizens in a high-security area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa “exposes the weakness of Pakistan’s security institutions or the collusion of the attackers from within the Army.”

The Taliban defense ministry statement went further, claiming that fighters from the Islamic State group were entering Afghanistan from Pakistan, and that Pakistani territory was “being used against us.”

This latest war of words underscores the tensions between the two neighbors since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021. Pakistan, which had backed the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate in the 1990s, has repeatedly urged the current Taliban regime to take action against anti-Pakistan militants based on Afghan soil.

For their part, the Taliban authorities have denied giving refuge to any groups and have called on Pakistan to resolve internal militancy through domestic policies rather than blaming Kabul.

Pak Army forcibly disappears three more youths from Pak-occupied Balochistan

In Pakistan-occupied- Balochistan province, three more youths have been subjected to enforced disappearance by security forces, while one missing person was recovered after nearly a month in custody.

According to the PAANK, a human rights group associated with the Baloch National Movement, Pak Army conducted a raid in the Pullabad ,Pak occupied Balochistan area early Thursday morning and took away three young men – Mohsin Abdulsamad, Adil Abdulsamad and Sohail Baloch.

Their families have expressed grave concern over the youths’ well-being and whereabouts after they were whisked away by security personnel. PAANK vehemently condemned the action as “an abhorrent act and blatant violation of human rights and international laws.”

The new incident of forced disappearances comes just a day after Aziz son of Shambay was recovered nearly a month after being picked up from his home in Kech district during a raid on April 18. Close family sources confirmed Aziz’s recovery on Thursday.

The persistent issue of enforced disappearances has been a major flashpoint in the ethnic Baloch community for years, with Baloch freedom fighters taking actions against Pak security forces for routinely abducting activists and civilians.

Human rights organizations have long documented thousands of cases of enforced disappearances in Pak-occupied-Balochistan at the hands of intelligence agencies and Pak Army. Families have led numerous protests demanding the recovery of their missing loved ones. Pakistan has forcefully occupied Balochistan since 1948, exploiting its resources while oppressing its people.

Infamous dargah in Sindh forcefully converts Hindu family of 14

In a disturbing development, 14 members of the Hindu family belonging to Thori Marwari community and residing in the village of Yaro Lund in Ghotki, Pakistan, have been forcibly converted to Islam at the infamous Bharchundi dargah in Sindh.

Notably, Bharchundi dargah in Sindh’s Daharki, headed by Mian Javed Ahmad Qadri is the biggest site of forceful conversion of Hindus in entire Pakistan.

These forced conversions are orchestrated by radicalized clerics, who operate with impunity under the protection of the socio-political system in Pakistan. Converting non-Muslims is perceived as a sacred duty by a significant portion of Pakistani society, leading to the coercion of individuals into adopting Islam.

Sindh being the biggest Hindu populated region faces the wrath most. The radical clerics responsible for these conversions often boast about increasing their count of converted individuals and aim to Islamize entire populations within specific areas within a set timeframe.

For instance, a bigot named Pir Ayub Jan Farooqui has vowed to Islamise the entire Hindi population of Umerkot (Amarkot) and Tharparkar districts. So, these illicit conversions poses a direct threat to religious freedom and the rights of minority communities in Pakistan.

What is particularly alarming is that these conversions frequently target children, who may have little to no understanding of religion, further exacerbating the issue.

With due consideration, the persistence of such practices without challenge underscores the complicity of the Pakistani establishment in perpetuating religious discrimination and violating the rights of minority groups.

Hence, e situation calls for urgent attention and action to safeguard religious freedom and protect vulnerable communities from coercion and persecution.

Rafah’s children bear brunt of Israel’s ruthless carpet bombing

In a deadly escalation of tensions, Israel has attained full control of the Rafah crossing, halting the aide into the region. Its tank took control of the crossing with warplanes hovering over. Israel based its action on the reports of misuse of humanitarian aide for terrorist purposes.

Amid the operation to control Rafah, Israel killed as many as 15 people in a day long period. Israel has also claimed that it pounded various Hamas targets with 20 terrorists being killed.

Notably Israel started to attack Rafah with its airstrikes on the city following a rocket attack on the Kerem Shalom border crossing. The attack, claimed by Hamas, resulted in the deaths of three Israeli soldiers and prompted swift retaliation from Israel.

Meanwhile, humanitarian organisation and displaced people were told to move from Eastern Rafah (targeted area) to al-Mawasi in west.

According to Palestinian health officials, at least 19 people were killed by Israeli fire on Sunday. The Israeli military reported that 10 projectiles were launched from Rafah towards the Kerem Shalom crossing, leading to its closure for aid trucks entering Gaza.

Israel was planning Rafah attack since months as it remains the only densely populated area of Gaza.

Hamas’ armed wing stated that it targeted an Israeli army base near the crossing, emphasizing that the commercial crossing was not the intended target. However, Israeli airstrikes hit a house in Rafah shortly after the Hamas attack, resulting in three deaths and several injuries, according to Palestinian medics.

The Israeli military confirmed the retaliatory strike, stating that it targeted the launcher used by Hamas and a nearby military structure. It accused Hamas of exploiting humanitarian facilities and using the civilian population as human shields.

POJK:Pak Army enters Muzaffarabad ahead of May 11 processions; Kashmiris demand evacuation

A full-fledged protest was staged in Muzaffarabad against the notification of the arrival of non-local police and FC personnel by Pakistan ahead of Rights procession on May 11.

The Joint Awami Action Committee chanted slogans against terrorism and outright rejected such actions. Earlier in morning today the Pak forces reached Muzaffarabad.

Awami Action Committee eaders stated that this is the result of the anti-Kashmir policy which can have dire consequences, as the people vehemently oppose and reject such intrusions.

Furthermore, it was said that decisions based on oppression and coercion will not be tolerated.Officials stated that their demands should be met based on public aspirations.

May 11 processions to Muzaffarabad demanding fulfilment of COD

Notably, the action comes ahead of the May 11 processions. The Joint Awami Action Committe has called to hold processions from Bhimber, Mirpur, Kotli, Poonch and other places to culminate at Muzaffarabad to protest against Pakistan for not fulfilling their basic demands.

For past one year, Kashmiris are holding protests and deliberations with the Islamabad-imposed puppet government, demanding their basic rights that include subsidised wheat flour, electricity, end to lead sheddings, the royalty to POJK on their resources exploited by Pakistan, among others. All these demands are covered in the Charter of Demands of POJK Joint Awami Action Committee.

For over seven months, they have boycotted the electricity bills. Every month the electricity bills are accumulated and publicly set on fire because of the high price resale of POJK generated electricity back to them.

Now when the Pakistan gave no ears to their voice, Kashmiris are intensifying their protest. But Pakistan that has illegally controlled the region has given clear indication of use of force. The imperialistic behaviour of Pakistan had to be exposed one day or the other.

During the protest against Pak forces incoming in Muzaffarabad, agitators hurled slogans calling ‘evacuation of Pakistan’.

Tibetan protestors confront Xi Jinping in France with go back slogans & Free Tibet banners

Protesters from various ethnic and activist groups flooded the streets of Paris to voice their opposition to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-day visit to France. Unfurling banners and waving flags, Uyghur, Tibetans, and Chinese activists gathered to denounce China’s human rights abuses and assert their demands for freedom and justice.

The demonstrations began with a powerful declaration from Tibetan activists, who displayed a large banner proclaiming “Free Tibet” and confronted Xi Jinping’s motorcade as it made its way through the Boulevard Périphérique. The presence of the “Free Tibet flag” symbolised the Tibetan independence movement’s defiance against Chinese oppression.

Ethnic Tibetans and Uyghurs, along with activists from various backgrounds, joined forces to condemn Beijing’s crackdown on religious and cultural freedoms in Tibet and Xinjiang. They highlighted the plight of their communities and called attention to China’s mass arbitrary detentions and other human rights violations.

As per reports, Tenzin Yangzom, campaigns coordinator at International Tibet Network, emphasized the urgency of the situation, asserting that Tibetans will not rest until they achieve freedom. The protesters urged President Macron and European leaders to stand up against Xi Jinping’s regime and prioritise human rights in their engagements with China.

Demonstration at Place de la République

The demonstrations culminated in a gathering at Place de la République, where over 1,000 demonstrators rallied for an end to repression in Tibet, the release of political prisoners, and halt to China’s dam construction projects. Street performers depicted the dire human rights situation in Tibet as protesters marched to Place de la Bastille, where they remained for hours.

Despite facing opposition from pro-China activists and surveillance from Chinese agents, the protesters remained steadfast in their demands for justice.

Notably, anti-Xi activists from China also participated in the protests, highlighting the diversity of voices within China and dissent against Xi’s authoritarian rule. These activists underscored the importance of defending freedom and universal values in the face of Xi Jinping’s growing influence.

Xi Jinping’s visit to France comes amid growing concerns over China’s expanding authoritarianism and its Belt and Road Initiative, which has raised questions about the erosion of democratic norms in Europe. As Xi continues his European tour, protesters vow to keep up the pressure and demand accountability for China’s human rights violations.

The missing individuals have been identified as Muslim Rashid and Shahnawaz.

Reportedly, the Army conducted a forceful operation resulting in the disappearance of Muslim Rashid and Shahnawaz, who hail from the Sandoom Gaishkor area of Gishkaur.

This latest incident adds to the mounting cases of enforced disappearances in Pakistan-occupied Balochistan, where thousands have gone missing over the years by Pak Army, with their dead bodies occasionally resurfacing under mysterious circumstances.

Pakistan farmers plan nationwide protests from 10 May over rampant wheat import corruption

The prominent farmers’ body Kissan Ittehad announced plans for nationwide protests from May 10, aimed at challenging the Pak Army’s decision to import the crop instead of procuring it from local cultivators.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Kissan Ittehad Chairman Khalid Khokhar declared that farmers across the country will take to the streets on May 10, protesting the administration’s choice to import wheat rather than purchase it from domestic farmers.

Khokar informed about the rampant corruption involved in wheat imports and said that those implicated should be executed. He said that the “wheat mafia” profited around 100 billion Pakistani rupees from the imports, while Pakistan suffered a loss of nearly $1 billion.

Nationwide Wheat Protests

According to the farmer leader, the “Pak establishment” raised the reserve rate for wheat to appease the “wheat mafia”. However, despite producing abundant crops, farmers were deprived of their earnings as authorities opted for imports instead of procuring locally, he said.

Therefore, Khokhar insisted that thousands of farmers would join the nationwide protests, as the ‘establishment’ had left them with no other way. He said that the Kissan Ittehad had approached the puppet Prime Minister, Army Chief, Director General of ISI, and the Minister of Food Security, but their concerns fell on deaf ears.

As a result, Khokhar urged civil society, media, lawyers, and the business community to lend their support to the farmers’ protest movement. He vowed that the demonstrations would remain peaceful but would persist until the ‘establishment’ agreed to procure wheat from local farmers.

Pak Army torture kills Pashtun man forcibly disappeared three years ago

The brutality of the Pakistan Army has once again come to the forefront in the Pashtun region. The family of Wali Salam, a Pashtun man of North Waziristan, received his lifeless body on May 4, sparking outrage and condemnation.

According to reports, Wali Salam had been subjected to undeserved torture by the Pakistan Army after being forcibly disappeared three years ago. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries in an internment center, highlighting the harrowing ordeal faced by many in the region.

Wali Salam’s case is just one among many in a long list of individuals who have reportedly suffered at the hands of the Pakistan Army in the Pashtun region. Just a couple of days ago, about 11 people were abducted or arrested by Pakistan Army without even telling the grounds of arrest. The pervasive nature of these alleged human rights abuses has cast a dark shadow over the entire Pashtun community.

Notably Pakistan Army harbours terrorists in the region while simultaneously gets engaged in the abduction, torture, and rape of innocent Pashtuns. These actions are aimed at exerting control over the region, perpetuating the deprivation of Pashtuns, and exploiting their resources for monetary gain.

Lone & armed assailant launches Sydney-like attack on pastor in Pennsylvania Church

A church service in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, turned into a scene of terror when a 26-year-old man, identified as Bernard Polite of Braddock, pulled out a gun and aimed it at the pastor in the middle of his sermon.

Pennsylvania State Police swiftly responded to the incident, charging Polite with attempted assault after he entered Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church just after 2 p.m. on Sunday and attempted to shoot Pastor Glenn Germany.

Video footage captured by the church’s deacon, Clarence McCallister, and shared online by Pastor Glenn Germany, depicts the harrowing moment when Pastor Germany found himself staring down the barrel of a gun. In a courageous act of selflessness, Deacon McCallister can be seen leaping into action, bravely tackling the gunman to the ground as Pastor Germany managed to evade the imminent threat.

The incident is reminiscent of Sydney attempted assassination where Rev Bishop was attacked by as assailant during the service. Last month, an assailant attempted stabbing, however, the Rev Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel survived the attack. Later, the assailant was arrested.
